In 2018 the Mongolian Government awarded Maire KT the Due Diligence on the detailed feasibility study concerning constructing a new refinery and a new crude pipeline. The Owners wanted to be sure that the Detailed feasibility study delivered for this project followed international best practices and selected an Owner Engineer to evaluate the consultant’s deliverables.
Prometheus worked as a subcontractor in this framework and studied all the technical aspects of Market Study and alternative Processing configurations modelling and analysis to validate results. Prometheus realised this study using its proprietary software tools, SIMRAF (LP Refinery Optimisation with plant Simulators) and CUTS (Crude oil characterisation tool).
At the end of this job, Mongol Refinery decided to hire Prometheus directly to act as owner’s engineer during the following phases of the refinery and pipeline construction project, which are expected to be on stream in 2025.
